having age toning with 43rd plate having penciling 

on its verso. 

VERY GOOD Condition 

with scuffing and soiling to binding, bookplate on front 

pastedown, name and date to first free endpaper and 

a few pencil notes on endpapers, page 423 has a 

one inch tear at the middle edge and the last page of 

the index is next to a beginning crack to the hinge, 

but it's still holding firmly and the book is able to be read.
