Arcana Strikes (アルカナ ストライクス) is a 1997 card battling game for the Sega Saturn by Takara released exclusively in Japan.

An RPG with plenty of use of magic cards to defeat adversaries. Delightful tunes which help the minutes turn into hours and the point and click menus make it pretty import friendly. Enjoyable special effects to the isometric battles.

Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean, known as Albert Odyssey Gaiden: Legend of Eldean (アルバートオデッセイ外伝 ~レジェンド オブ エルディーン~) in Japan, is an RPG for the Sega Saturn.
Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean is a role-playing video game produced by Sunsoft for the Sega Saturn. It was originally made for the Super NES, and ported to the Saturn late in its development. Released in Japan in August 1996, the game was made available in North America in July 1997 by Working Designs.

Legend of Eldean is the first Albert Odyssey title to be released in English, as well as the first to feature traditional turn-based role-playing elements as opposed to tactical, strategy-based gameplay. It was created as a "gaiden", or sidestory to the original titles, and contains back story, characters, and plot that are independent from earlier games in the series. The North American version received mixed reviews.

Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean is a traditional RPG, with an overhead perspective and combat based around the selecting of character actions from menus

In a world borne of enchantment, there is only one rule: Expect the impossible. Pike is an orphan raised by harpies. His life in the harpy village has been one of peace and tranquility. However, with a slow, dreadful certainty, an insidious wave of evil is spilling over the land. The ancient truce that unified man and beast, magician and harpy begins to unravel, and the land is overrun by war and unrest. Beasts savagely attack men, men attack harpies, dragons roam the skies, and terror grips all. Without warning, Pike is thrust to the fore of this conflict and must find the source of the evil and return peace to the land in order to save the life of one he holds most dear. Assume the role of Pike as he travels the land, gaining colorful comrades, fighting terrifying battles in true RPG menu-driven combat, and exploring danger-filled dungeons accompanied by moving orchestral music. Gather your wits and set out at once, for the final confrontation that will decide the fate of Pike's world is rushing forth, and the dark evil bound since the days of Albert demands vengeance.

Slayers Royal (スレイヤーズろいやる) is a 1997 RPG by Onion Egg for the Sega Saturn, based upon the Slayers anime series. It was followed by Slayers Royal 2.

Slayers Royal (スレイヤーズろいやる, Sureiyāzu roiyaru) is a 1997 tactical role-playing game developed by Onion Egg and published by Kadokawa Shoten and Entertainment Software Publishing only in Japan. It was originally released for the Sega Saturn on July 25, 1997, and its PlayStation port by Japan Art Media was released on April 23, 1998. Slayers Royal was the third video game adaptation on the Slayers franchise and the first that featured the full motion video cut scenes and voice actors from the anime versions. This well-received game was followed by a non-sequel Slayers Royal 2 in 1998.

Contrary to its two purely role-playing predecessors in the comedy fantasy franchise Slayers video game entries, Royal is a tactical RPG. The game is split between Adventure Mode and Battle Mode:

  • Adventure Mode itself has two components, conversation and travel (including visiting in-town locations such as stores and inns as well as dungeons). There is also no free movement while exploring the dungeons and the progress instead depends on the player's story choices.
  • Battle Mode features an isometric-view perspective similar to this used in Final Fantasy Tactics and is round-based for selecting orders (including a variety of spells and character-specific special moves), followed by their execution ending with a next turn. Each character in the player's party can be controlled either manually or automatically by AI. The fights can take place outdoors and indoors, and the most powerful offensive spells (such as the ultimate "Dragon Slave", capable of destroying large parts of scenery) can not be used in the latter.

Compared to the previous Slayers games, the use of CD-ROM as media enabled addition of FMV cutscenes and a large amount of digitized voice sampling, featuring the voices of Megumi Hayashibara, Maria Kawamura, Yasunori Matsumoto, Masami Suzuki, Hikaru Midorikawa and other main actors from Slayers anime productions. The PlayStation has some new features such as an improved FMV quality, five minigames (such as "Slayers Quiz"), and the DualShock controller vibration feedback compatibility.
