Antique needlepoint canvas.

A superb sampler that has really strong imagery with great attention to detail and still-strong colours.

It was sewn by Ann Cheshire in 1840’s.

Fabulous detailed roses & other flowers interspersed with childlike animals all contained within a zigzag floral border.

Incredibly attention to detail in small & acurate stitching in dusted pinks & greens.

The sampler has been nicely mounted in a decorative wooden frame.

There are is some damage to one edge of the sampler as pictured although this is mostly concealed by the frame and one small whole to the right of the dog .

The frame is solid the dark wood as a beautiful patina but could do with further securing at the back ( re taping ) .
