The 1992 Major League Baseball season was the 111th season in their  history


23rd season at Three Rivers Stadium.

For the third consecutive season, the Pirates won the National League East title with a record of 96–66. They were defeated 4-3 games  by the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS.


The Pirates would not have another winning season or postseason berth again until 2013. As of 2022 this is the Pirates' most recent division title, making it the longest such active drought in Major League Baseball.
