A beautiful example of this style of Japanese silver- ware enamel created as a lidded pot in the shape of an egg.

The background seems to be of a subtle mauve shade . Water- iris flowers growing out of a flowing river , with colourful butterflies above . The theme of butterflies is also on the lower part of the bowl . This lovely little trinket pot has four little legs , with bronzed fine wire cloissonne on main part of its base.

Inside is the stunning green colour .Closure with brass metal rims .

On the rim of the lower section is an imprinted mark which appears to have 3 little hearts ,possibly depicting maker but difficult to decipher .

This unique piece comes in excellent condition for age . Some slight rubbing from use on the inside silver rims , and barely noticeable fine scratches on outside , which can only be seen in magnified photo ,but not with the naked eye .

The bright green inside egg is perfect , showing in photo what seems to be marks, but that is actually from light reflection.

Such lovely artistry and craftsmanship.
