Antique Cow Bone Cased Crochet Hook Set

French * Circa 1860

This nice set of steel crochet hooks is in a carved cow (bovine) bone* case. The steel hooks screw into the cut steel handle in the middle and all 6 are present. All have strong, intact hooks and are all tiny lace crochet sizes. The bent end style hooks are a sure sign it's a French set. The handle has gorgeous faceted decoration and is still bright and shiny.

The case is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or loss. It has a lovely old patina and it screws together well. With a hook in place, the crochet hook measures about 4 1/2" long. The case is 3 1/8" high x almost 1" in diameter.

*This item is made of bone from a domestic cow (bovine) and NOT from an endangered species or an ivory producing species.

I stand behind everything that I offer and guarantee that it is exactly as presented.
