Entitled “Door Latches & Slavery, A Keepsake for the Descendants of Homer Curtiss (1800-1880)”. This private press book was printed in the months of August and September, 1972 at Bayberry Hill Press Meriden, Connecticut USA by Foster Mary Johnson, who finds deep satisfaction in these words concerning his Great-Grandfather.


Discusses the life of inventor and abolitionist Homer Curtiss and his involvement in anti slavery and more specifically the creation of an Anti Slavery society in Meriden, CT.


The paper is “Crown & Septre”, hand made in England by J. Barcham Green, Limited at Hayle Mill, Maidstone, Kent. Printed on an ancient press that for many years was the property of Americas most foremost type designer, Fred Goudy.
