Miscanthus Sinensis New Hybrid - Large mature specimen

Plant has been lifted from the garden and will be supplied with a full rootball.  The plant is big and mature, last summer it reached 2m high x 2m wide.

Miscanthus Sinensis is a compact, clump-forming, deciduous grass with narrow, arching leaves.  In late summer coppery brown flower spikes emerge. As they mature the colour changes to a silvery shade and the curled flower panicles take the form of silky tassels which remain on the plant over winter.  As the season progresses the foliage turns to shades of coppery-red, then yellow after the first autumn frosts and eventually to brown over winter. It can be used as a specimen plant or as a backdrop to late flowering perennials at home in formal borders or cottage garden settings.

Flowers August to October.

Thrives in moist but well drained soil in full sun.

It has clumping growth habit and full sun requirement, it can reach up to 2m in height and width. This plant is a deciduous grass that features light watering needs and has a medium growth rate.

The plant is supplied well rooted and ready for immediate planting out.  The plant is hard grown i.e. grown outside from seedling stage.  This makes them stronger, healthier & more weather tolerant plants than those which have been grown on rapidly in artificial conditions in a greenhouse or polytunnel.

Photographs are for illustrative purposes only. Your plant may not be at the same stage as on the photograph i.e. the plant is herbaceous and naturally die back during the Autumn/Winter: meaning that plants sent during the winter months are in many cases dormant roots with little or no foliage - this is normal may not be in flower depending on their flowering season. If you require a photograph prior to posting please let me know.

Collection only.

Item non-returnable.
