Sirram Picnic Hamper

This is a vintage Sirram picnic hamper dating from the 1950s or thereabouts.  The hamper comes in a cream and red coloured carry case with a handle and two locks although these no longer work as the keys are missing.  The contents appear to be complete and mostly original although some items may be later replacements.  Contents are as follows:

Four Sirram branded small plates, tea cups and saucers made by Victoria & Trentham Potteries Ltd

Two Thermos branded white, red and black striped flasks

Two Sirram cream coloured lidded lunch or sandwich boxes (Provision Box No. 77)

Two Sirram cream coloured small plastic lidded storage pots (Picnic Ware No. 60)

Four Linga-Longa Ware graduated cream coloured stacking plastic beakers

One large glass storage bottle woth a cream coloured plastic lid

Three Sirram small glass condiment bottles (salt, pepper and mustard) with cream coloured plastic and cork lids and stoppers

Four Sirram branded stainless steel knives with cream coloured plastic handles

Four chrome plated forks and teaspoons

Approximate overall dimensions for the case are 50cm (19.75") in width, 32.5cm (12.75") in depth across the widest part excluding the handles and catches and 15cm (6") in height.

The contents all appear to be intact with no damage apart from a hairline crack to one of the cups as shown in the fourteenth and fifteenth photos above.  All four plates and one cup and saucer also have crazing to the surfaces as and some of the cups have the odd faint brown mark (probabaly manufacturing flaws) to the insides as also illustrated in some of the close up photos.

The flasks both appear to be in good condition apart from some wear to the striped pattern in places.  The sandwich boxes too are in good condition and still close well with the clasps.  The plastic beakers and glass bottles are also all in good condition with just a small red mark to one of the beakers and the lid of the large bottle.  The cutlery has just a few marks or minor signs of tarnishing.  Please note that all items will show some minor signs of cosmetic wear in addition to the above due to their age.

The carry case shows a fair amount of wear and tear from previous usage with various marks and scuffs and there is some rusting to the metal parts as illustrated in the last few photos below.
