This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1975 Yamaha XS650B has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life.

This and the fact it's only showing 7199 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks.

While it looks entirely plausible, we have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.

As you can see this bike is remarkably original and nearly complete missing just the ignition key & the ball-end off the front brake lever.

It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, tyres, fork dust seals & seat cover are perished.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.

This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures.

The wheels look straight with nice clean alloy rims, good hubs & brake plate, disc, calliper & working master cylinder.

Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome & clean alloy.

Mudguards are both solid.

Taillight ASSY is good as are the headlight & hangers.

Instruments & switches look good.

Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.

Paintwork is solid, fuel tank sounds clean inside when you tap it with a knuckle but has dents/marks & scratches in the original paint.

Exhausts are original & solid.

Seat base is in very good condition throughout.

Indicators are tidy.

Chain guard is solid.

The engine is cosmetically very clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression.

BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs but it is obvious the carbs need attention.
