See car on Hotrodcollection .com We Welcome Trade-ins Hot Rod Collection is proud to present a one-of-a-kind opportunity to own this gorgeous 1963 Corvette Grand Sport with 156 miles on it since built, and titled as 1963 Corvette. This street legal purpose-built race car has been driven less than 100 miles, and is in showroom condition. Built by legendary Alan Sevadjian at Duntov Motor Company, under an exclusive GM license, this car is serial number 15 in a sequence that goes back to the original five Grand Sports built by Zora Duntov at General Motors in the sixties. It is as close to the original 5 Grand Sports as you can get. This vehicle's chassis and suspension was built to the original Chevrolet blue prints and its body was built in molds taken off of the only one of the original Grand Sports that was never wrecked. Being built in 2009, it takes advantage of current technology in the drivetrain. The five original race cars used 377 cubic inch small-block engines with Weber carburetors that made 495 horsepower. Thanks to a Cadillac CTS-V, this car boasts a 6.2L supercharged LSA producing over 560 HP, which is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec 6060 6-speed manual transmission. With nearly as much torque as horsepower, this 2550 lb. Grand Sport feels like a rocket ship. The interior is spartan and purpose built. Contoured seats hold the driver in position during spirited driving, and all the gauges are easy to read, favoring function over form. All interior components of this Grand Sport look and operate as they should. There are no rips, tears, or blemishes, a further testament to the outstanding condition of this vehicle. Moving to the exterior, the Sherwin-Williams Dimension Guardsman Blue (99045) on White (508) is an iconic, original color in spectacular condition. The body, paint, and trim pieces of this Grand Sport are excellent overall. Since the building of this Grand Sport, some replicas and copies have been built by others, however none are as close to the original five nor have the fit and finish as this car. Sharing direct linage to the golden era of racing, this Grand Sport has a pedigree unlike the copies and replicas. This #15 car is a little more special than the other cars that were produced by Duntov under the GM licensing agreement. This car's rolling chassis and body was shipped by Duntov to Superformance's South African supplier, Hi-Tech, where the chassis, body, and interior were completed. The car was then sent to General Motors where it received its engine and transmission. After its heart and soul transplant from GM, Superformance used this vehicle as a demonstrator for the next two years. The subsequent Superformance / Hi-Tech Grand Sports were built as replicas of this this Duntov-built car, and as such only the body was true to the original cars. This car is the real deal.
