- ok great early possibly Pennsylvania chair with old surface, traces of paint etc, its obvious at one point it was shortened, not sure by how much, it wasnt a high chair as you can see the first rung would not be there if it was . In wallace Nuttings book there is a similar example also cut but called a reverse chair, not sure I captured it in the photos , but what we consider the front of the chair is turned but then it was made flat so I guess it could be pushed against the wall, there is very little information that I can find on that, the chair has the look there is no question, the question is does anyone want to own rare chairs anymore we just dont know !
