This one offers a Gilbert American Flyer S gauge K335 4-8-4 Northern locomotive and tender in very good condition.  This is 1952 production only and there is a visible 'OCT 1952' stamp on the underside of the boiler shell (please see picture).

The engine runs well in both directions, reverses fine, smokes, has the choo-choo feature, and the headlamp works.  Please note that this engine has a 5th wire (as manufactured) that keeps the light and smoke on while in neutral).  The engine will ship with this 5th wire disconnected at the jack panel on the boiler and will need to be re-connected (soldered) in order for the light and smoke to work.  I replaced both brushes with new ones on the engine.

There are a few flaws to point out.  First, one of the tender steps has been re-glued.  It looks like it was a clean break and repaired cleanly.  I almost missed this until I saw the glue residue.  Secondly, one of the number boards on the boiler is slightly bent, and the lettering on that number board is partially missing.  The original red insert that goes in the smoke stack was gone when I got the engine.  I will include a reproduction replacement.  I briefly tried to get that replacement screwed into the stack but was not able to seat it - you may have better luck and patience.  Finally, the tender trucks have been re-riveted to the tender frame.  The way the rivets were pressed, while functional, was not done at the factory.
