Wearing Your Adjustable Strap Respirator

Step 1

Pre-stretch the straps before wearing. Place the respirator over your nose and mouth. Be sure the metal nose clip is on top.

Step 2

Pull the top strap over your head until it rests on the crown of your head above your ears.

Pull the bottom strap over your head until it rests just below your ears.

Step 3

Place your fingertips from both hands at the top of the metal nosepiece. Using two hands, mold the nose area to the shape of your nose by pushing inward while moving your fingertips down both sides of the nosepiece.

Step 4

Check the seal of your filtering facepiece respirator each time you don the respirator.

Place both hands completely over the respirator. Be careful not to disturb the position of the respirator. Inhale and exhale sharply. If air leaks around nose, readjust the nosepiece. If air leaks at the respirator edges, work the straps back along the sides of your head. If you CANNOT achieve a proper seal, DO NOT enter the contaminated area. See your super- visor.
