Frida Kahlo Mexican Day
of the Dead Shadow Box Shrine Altar Diorama Mexico
- This Day of the Dead
shadow box features a shrine to Mexico’s most famous female artist, Frida
Kahlo.
- There are 3 prints of
Frida on the back wall – 2 are prints of her self-portrait paintings. The one
in the middle is a skeleton rendering of Frida in Day of the Dead style.
- In front of the prints
are 2 candles and calla lily flowers – Frida’s favorite and signature blossom.
- The diorama has a gold
foil leaves on the floor and a green foil backdrop surrounding the Day of the
Dead print.
- The diorama box is painted
light blue on its sides and back with a glass top, so you can see in action
from the top.
- The box measures 3-1/8
inches in width x just over 2 inches in height x 1-3/8 inches in depth.
- This is a handmade and
hand painted piece of folk art. There are artist imperfections that can be seen
upon close inspection. The artist uses a type of tape to hold the glass to the
box and in some cases there could be a small gap in the tape that looks like a
chip in the box frame. There are no chips, cracks or repairs.
- Joel is originally from
Mexico and he buys locally from artists and their families. This is a new piece
of folk art. Check out our other Mexican folk art for sale in our ebay store.
