Vintage Angelus Sentry 8 Day Swiss Travel Alarm Clock Thermometer & Barometer

Up for bid and for your consideration is a vintage Angelus Sentry, 8 Day, Swiss, travel alarm clock with a thermometer & barometer

This little time, alarm and weather station is a real beauty and would be at home in your busy office or traveling with you on your fun vacations! To you clock collectors it would be a wonderful addition to your collection!

The details:

The case measures about 5-3/4 inches wide, 3-1/4 inches deep and about 1-1/8 inches thick when closed. The clock and weather station itself is 2-1/4 inches tall, 5-3/8 inches wide and about 3/4 inches deep not including the keys.

The clock has leather covered case. The frame holding the clasp and hinges is metal and the sides appear to be a molded heavy cardboard or some sort of heavy paperboard. The latch is difficult to close and latch but holds firmly once you get it. The inside has wear, especially where the keys have rubbed against the lining. There are also stains and discolorations overall, inside and outside. There are two screws missing that hold the unit to the case.

The remaining screws hold the unit firmly in place. There is also a gold-colored monogram, "TWH" on the outside of the case.

Both dials and the backing for the thermometer are a matte silver color.

The clock has raised gold-colored Roman numerals at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 positions with raised elongated triangles representing the rest of the 5 minute intervals.

The dial is marked: "Angelus Sentry" under the 12 position, an 8 inside a circle above the six and "Swiss" under the six.

The crystal appears to be glass, has beveled edges and is in nice condition.

The gold colored hands are open in the center and are filled with luminous material. The luminous material does not glow anymore.

The thermometer has both Fahrenheit and Centigrade scales printed in black and blue, probably alcohol, liquid in a glass tube. It appears to be accurate.

The barometer is also printed in black with the pressure numbers on a raised area. There are 2 scales. I believe one is pounds and the other is millimeters.

The plastic crystal is drilled in the center and holds a set hand which you can set to match the reading hand. This is so you can see how much movement there is in the pressure. The crystal is scratch free with only minor scuffing, and cleaning marks. I don't know if the barometer works. It has not moved much since I have had it, but it is inside in air conditioning and our weather has been pretty much the same too.

There is a gold tone frame around the entire unit and separating each unit.

The back of the clock is marked "Angelus 15 Jewels".

All winders and knobs are present and work. The alarm "off" button is on the left side of the clock. There is a screw head for fast/slow regulation of the clock.

The clock works, keeps reasonable time and has a nice quiet tick. The alarm also works.

Please understand that I can not guarantee that a clock will continue to run. It is being sold with no warranty or guarantee of accuracy. Any clocks I sell are vintage and likely needs to have the movement cleaned and /or oiled. I also have no way to know how the clock is handled upon arrival. For these reasons, I do not take returns.

This little time, alarm and weather station is a real beauty and would be at home in your busy office or traveling with you on your fun vacations! Maybe you know someone who would enjoy this as a gift? Why not bid now?!
