Up for bid and for your consideration is a vintage metal figurine of an Arab man sitting on tiger or lion skin rug . This figure is unmarked and appears to be a copy of a Franz Bergman figure. Maybe not all Bergmans are marked.

This little sculpture would make an interesting addition to any Vienna, Austria bronze statue collection or maybe a finishing touch to your vintage decor! 

Here are the details:

The tiger is about 4-15/16 inches long and approx. 3-1/8 inches wide. The sitting man is  about 1-3/4 inches tall.

They are cold painted metal, maybe lead, as they do not attract a magnet. The paint has a nice patina. Cold painting is where the paint is applied to a cold figure and is not fired or heated in any way. You can see the metal on the bottom of the rug as some of the paint has worn off there is also a scratch on the bottom of the tiger that reveals shiny metal.

The figures are nicely modeled, showing detail in the clothing and fur. The faces also have nice detailing both in the molding and the painting.

The man is smoking a pipe, but the bowl of the pipe is missing. The tiger also has a slight curve to it and rocks a very little bit, but really, is stable.

There is wear overall to the paint including scratches and worn areas, commensurate with age.
