This completely all original 1957 Madame Alexander-Kins doll is called "Wendy with Granny's May Basket".  She is very rare, near impossible to find doll.  The original Wendy-Kins wrist tag is still attached to her wrist and this doll is just like she was when she was created in 1957. Pristine, perfect, and mint are all the right words to describe this one.

She's a perfectly functioning BKW (bend knee walker) doll with an adorable face with factory original coloration including her very rosy blushed cheeks.  She has fluttering hazel green sleep eyes. Her wig is in the factory original set. It's a unique beautiful rare blonde special hair-do which is just fascinating! It has a triple stitched side part and is rolled back on one side and tied off in two places and has a big flip across the bottom with the sweetest little curl in the front.

The doll comes with her original costume and accessories as shown, including her perfect very rare original May flower basket with brightly colored flowers which is still tied to her wrist with the original pink factory string. She wears her brightly tagged crisp blue polished cotton pinafore style dress over a darling pink dotted-Swiss organdy blouse and pretty ivory taffeta lace trimmed undies and a lace trimmed baby pink slip. She has white ankle socks and black side-snap shoes -  All pristine!  The entire costume is crisp and flawless just like the day it was made.

This doll and several other vintage Madame Alexander dolls I will be selling were purchased from a Madame Alexander Doll dealer's estate.  The dealer had a Madame Alexander store.  She had 1000's of Madame Alexander dolls from the 1940's through the 1970's.  After a long illness her shop had to be closed. Eventually the storefront was sold and the contents of her entire store was packed up and moved to a large climate controlled storage unit where it was locked up for a couple of decades. Some of the doll's boxes were mixed up in the move.  When the dealer passed, her estate was sold including the entire contents of the storage unit. She is an 1957 Wendy-Kins box but it might not be the exact box she left the Madame Alexander factory in. The number on the box is 100C.  In mother's old book called "World of Alexander-Kins" by Patricia Smith this doll is found on page 99 and is listed as number 365.  I suppose it is accurate information though I couldn't find a single example of a 1957 #365 Wendy-Kins online (though I did see a 1953 strung Alice in Wonderland Alexander-Kins doll with that number) neither could I find a single doll numbered "100 C". This is a 1957 Wendy-Kins box and it has the Madame Alexander signature pink tissue paper.

This 8-inch Wendy-Kins doll is stunning and flawless as you can see.  She's one any collector would feel proud to own.
