FOR LIMITED PERIOD ONLY WE WILL ACCEPT OFFERS ON THIS ITEM

Painted cast iron 'John Bull' figure holding a clock. 39cm high. Weight 5kg.

With key, in full working order. Excellent condition.

Base stamped 'Bradley & Hubbard. Patented July 14 1857'.

This is different from the original version 'Blinking Eye' clock. This version has the eyes moving from side to side in time with the ticking of the clock. It is quite mesmerising to watch as the ticking clock is accentuated by the simultaneous movement of the eyes.

First class provenance and condition from the home of the founder of Gucci Watches who was an avid art collector, whose various places of residence were full of quirky and eclectic items, this clock being one of them.
