Rare Set of 2 1968 Detroit Tigers Old Fashioned  Baseball Drinking glasses.   These are etched glasses that came and were expensive glasses made when The Detroit Tigers won the World Series in 1968 over the St Louis Cardinals.   I think they may have come from a high end jewelry store but that is just a guess. The 6 inch size glasses are from my personal collection and the only ones I have seen.   One glass has a Tiger with a Bird (Cardinal) in his mouth lying in the grass.   Above him it says "How Sweet It Is".   On the back side it is engraved "1968 World Champs".   The other glass has the Tiger pulling a dead bird (Cardinal) in a little wagon to bury it where there is a little cross with the etched "How Sweet It Is".  On The back side it says "1968 World Champs".  Try putting a set of these together - it is a real challenge -  they are over 60 years old!    Glasses are in excellent condition never in a dishwasher or direct sun light even.  See the 9 pictures.  The glasses are clear and hard to get a good picture of and I sell 99 percent paper items and scan everything and am not very good with a "camera" but we got a shot of them with some blue paper and along with the description of the 2 glasses I have provided you can understand the visual a little better.   If you have more questions please ask them and I will answer you directly.  I have been selling all my Detroit Tiger display items from my collection.  These are high quality "etched" glasses which takes quite a skill as far as I know and expensive at the time and not mass produced for sure.   It is not something commonly found on glasses in "modern" times like you would see on fine old etched whiskey glasses from the the 1900's as it seems like something of a lost art.  E-mail with any questions.
