The marble bust has found a place of honor in interior design and decoration, where it adapts perfectly to the new contexts of Baroque and Art Nouveau inspiration, but also, by contrast, to clean and essential lines. Naturally, it exalts above all antique furnishings and in general dark precious woods, but it also fits with great style in the most modern author contests.

A subject dear to the figurative art of all eras, the female figure of the eighteenth century is characterized by a marked sensuality that never seems to reveal itself completely. If the necklines are wide to highlight the busty breasts, pushed up by the corset, the lower part of the body is hidden by very wide skirts.

The origin of the bust in the history of art is very ancient. Originally the word bustum was used to indicate the place where the corpses are burned and buried. In a translated sense, the word "bust" was used to mean the effigy of a person. On a symbolic level, the bust expresses the desire to preserve the living and real memory of the person in the portrait. In an image in which the face represents the compendium of moral and physical qualities and the head the seat of his soul.
