A rare English Georgian antique solid sterling silver skewer (or could be used as a letter opener). It is hallmarked for London 1789 with the maker’s marks being that of Thomas Oliphant (or Ollivant) of Manchester (no doubt supplying the new industrial rich of the time). It has been superb made and is in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures approx. 11.75 inches (29.7cm) long by 1 inch (2.6cm) wide and weighs 74 grams. A rare piece.
