'Salute Of Guns', by Donald Boyd. Published by Jonathan Cape. 1930, 1st edn.

Please see the pictures for the outside of the book. The inside is clean and tight.

This is a  book that seems to fly under the radar. A superbly written account of a Gunner Subaltern who fought on the Somme, Hill 60, Arras and the Spring Retreat.
This has one of the few account of deserters who lived in High Wood and scavenged a living from the corpes. When the British tried to capture them seven or eight surrendered and the rest were bombed in their dug-out.
