Japanese Ukiyoe Woodblock Print Reproduction 

This is a Japanese vintage reproduction of a woodblock print Ukiyoe by Utagawa Kuniyoshi. The original piece is from 1852 and is called Settsu Takanawa-shin kamo (Geese from Takanawa in Settsu), from the series Auspicious Desires on Land and Sea (Sankai medetai zue). 

Ukiyoe is a genre of Japanese art that flourished from the 17th through 19th centuries. Its artists produced woodblock prints and paintings of such subjects as female beauties, kabuki actors and sumo wrestlers, scenes from history and folk tales, travel scenes and landscapes, flora and fauna, and erotica.
