Gibson ES-175D '80

Gibson's signature archtop guitar, the ES-175, with a 16-1/4-inch full acoustic maple body, was introduced in 1949 (a dual-pickup version was introduced in 1951). Production of the one-pickup version ended in 1971, but the dual-pickup model ES-175D continued to be produced as a standard full acoustic guitar until recently, being chosen by a surprisingly wide range of genres.

This time, we have a bottle made in 1980 that is in relatively good condition.

【body】
Overall weight is approximately 3.3kg. The body material is full acoustic structure of Gibson's traditional laminated maple. The cool sunburst color that you will never get tired of is wonderful. Although there are some signs of use such as burnt lacquer on the back and body ends, weather checks, small dents, and dullness on the metal parts, it is in fair condition. A strap pin has been added near the neck joint.

【neck】
The neck material is 3-piece maple, and the fingerboard material is rosewood. There are some lacquer burns on the back of the neck as well as the body. Although there is some variation in the winding of the tuner, it works well. The frets/nut have not worn down much and the playability is good. Nut width 43.0mm. It features a relatively thin neck shape for a Gibson guitar.

[Electrical system]
The controls are the orthodox [3way pickup selector/2 volume/2 tone]. The rich hollow feel typical of the Gibson archtop model, the glossy sweet bass, and the clear and crisp high range are attractive, making it ideal for use as a jazz guitar, as well as rock, blues, and other genres due to its good attack and clarity. They will do it for you.
