1 - WINDSOR CASTLE.

Windsor Castle was built in the 11th Century after the Norman invasion of England by William the Conqueror.
Henry I was the first monarch to use the castle as his home.
It is the headquarters of the Order of the Garter (a fellowship of knights founded by King Henry III in 1348).

2 - BUCKINGHAM PALACE.

Buckingham Palace is Queen Elizabeth II's official residence in London and has served as the administrative headquarters of the British Monarch since 1837.
It was built in 1703 as Buckingham House, a London residence for John Sheffield, the 3rd Earl of Mulgrave.
In 1761 George III decided to purchase the house for his wife Queen Charlotte
Today the palace has 775 rooms in total, including 19 state rooms, 52 royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms.

3 - SANDRINGHAM HOUSE.

Located in Norfolk, about 100 miles north of London, Sandringham Castle Estate covers 20,000 acres of land.
The British Royal Family acquired the estate in 1862 when it was purchased as a county home for Edward VII, the Prince of Wales, and his soon-to -be wife Alexandra of Denmark. Sandringham House was built in 1870.

4 - BALMORAL CASTLE.

Balmoral Castle has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852, having been first leased in 1848.
