Triumph TR6C project
I've been working on this for a few years now, but just haven't had the time to finish it off.
Rolling chassis is complete and restored. New stainless mudguards, chrome stays, NOS petrol tank in Meriden paint. New bearings, brakes, paint, forks completely rebuilt new rear shocks and tyres, tubes etc.
Frame is TR6C XC ........... which dates as December 1968, so '69 model year, engine is TR6C PC ...... which dates from November 1968.
I really love the look of the late '60's TR6C bikes but there was, for me, no perfect year, the early ones had the pretty aluminium rear light, which in later years got big ugly reflectors added to the side. Early bikes had the pretty stacked exhaust pipes on the left but these got bigger and uglier as US emissions regulations started biting. But later bikes had the better front twin leader brake and best forks. I also like the look of the later longer saddle, which is genuine Meriden on this bike.
So my solution was to build a bike featuring all the best bit from TR6C's from 1966 to 1970, there didn't seem much point doing that to a matching numbers bike so I purchased the engine to match as close as possible the frame that I had owned for decades. NOS petrol tank came from Norway, which was not cheap. All the black paintwork is new and top quality. Most fixings are stainless or re-plated originals.
Engine is in bits but aluminium bits have been vapour blasted, barrels have been painted, all fixings have been re-plated etc etc etc......
Best thing is give me a call on 07833 257749, and I can talk you through it all.
Bike will need registering as I don't have a V5C for the frame, you'll need an exhaust system, and some electrical bits and bobs. Re-assemble the engine. Then you'll have a unique, beautiful and totally rebuilt bike.
If it doesn't sell I might consider, pulling it all apart and selling it off in bits, which would be a shame.
I'll stick more pictures on tomorrow if ebay will let me, bike is advertised elsewhere so could be withdrawn from this auction at any time.
Last picture is my 1970 Bonneville I also have listed.
Cheers
Mike
