Nearly Neptune by Hugh Walters, 1st Edition, 1st Printing first published by Faber in 1969. Twelfth title from the famous Chris Godfrey UNEXA series, wherein Chris’s team meet with near disaster on the voyage to Neptune, presciently foreshadowing the Apollo 13 explosion in the real-life space programme. The dustjacket, by Leslie Wood, features a stunning and historically contemporaneous echo of the Apollo 11 Command & Service Modules in orbit around the Moon prior to the first Moon-landing, which happened in the year of this book’s first publication. Scarce and especially desirable for its connections with the two most famous missions in the Apollo programme.
