Wonderfully decorative and useful large Majolica jardiniere planter, probably by Christopher Dresser for Ault pottery, in gorgeous green and yellow glaze with raised leaf decorations. Late 19th century piece with Ault's impressed mark underneath.

Christopher Dresser teamed with Ault in 1892 and contributed designs to Ault until 1896. New Dresser designs continued to be manufactured by Ault until 1909, five years after Dresser's death.

Good antique condition with some discrete faults commensurate with age and nature of item, long hairline crack running across base onto body, sediment to inside bowl base, chips to glaze around base, no repairs, crazing and minor surface blemishes including scuffing to rim, please refer to detailed photos provided as they form part of item's description.

Approximately 21cm tall, rim diameter 26cm, base diameter 12.5cm, and weighs 2.7Kg.
