Description

Rare Victorian Style Jonquil by Diane Samandi lace peplum jacket was originally made as a peignoir or negligee jacket robe. This has gigantic shoulder pads that were fashionable in the 1980's as well as the Victorian era to create that hourglass figure look, and it buttons at the waist with faux pearl button that slip into little elastic loops to nip it in. The peplum is shorter in front and longer in back falling to about knee length there or just above. There are faux pearl, beads and embroidered trim as well as some sequins for embellishment. The color is what I would call Ivory Cream.

This is a rare Diane Samandi piece and I could not find anything remotely like it in my search...and I've been researching this for several years now since I first acquired it. It would be wonderful over lingerie for wedding night or honeymoon, but it would also be stunning to wear over a satin bridal slip gown for a Victorian style wedding gown.

*Note: This jacket is shown in photos over a couple of different pieces I have in my store, but this listing is for the jacket only. Any other items in photos are not included but may be listed separate. This one is a show stopper and I don't think you'll find another like it.

Condition is previously owned true vintage, estimating 1980's due to the size of the shoulder pads and style of the piece. No issues other than one of the tiny elastic loops for the button needs to be repaired or replaced at the waist.

Measurements were taken with garment laying flat and measured side to side. Please take a few minutes to measure a similar garment you already own that fits you well, and compare those measurements to the measurements given to insure proper fit. Be sure to message me with any questions, as I take the time to measure and post the information for you, so I do not give refunds for items that don't fit.

The measurements of the bust/bra/shoulders and bodice are oversized and full, and this is shown on size 6 mannequin who measures 32-25-34. It fit her but was a bit big across her shoulder area. I believe this will fit up to a medium, up to about 28-30 inches around at the waist.

The waist measures about 14 inches across when it's buttoned with the two buttons that slip through little elastic loops, so there is as bit of give there if needed. One of the elastic loops has come loose and needs to either be replaced or re-stitched. I would estimate the waist at 28 to 30 buttoned. The shoulders/bust area are pretty much free and full due to the style, as are the hips, as the peplum is gathered under the waistband for fullness.
