ABOUT THIS BOX

This vintage music box is terrific -- it is stately and very attractive.  The "King's Box" style is one of the most beautiful of all Reuge boxes.  The combination of metal work and stunning inlaid wood is worthy of royalty -- and would be a centerpiece for any collection.  Complementing this classic box, the box plays three tunes from Franz Liszt from the mid 1800's.

Open the lid to view the outstanding, 3/72 movement made by the Swiss craftspeople of Reuge. This world-class mechanism is highly-desired. The movement is clean and shiny. It winds up smoothly and works perfectly. The mechanism switches effortlessly between the songs. The music starts and stops at the end of the tune via a slider along the front edge.  

There is room under the lid to store your personal treasures.  The lid can be locked if you desire.  The lock works and the tasseled key is included.

This box plays 3 parts from Hungarian Rhapsody by Franz Liszt.  The tunes are intricate and sound beautiful.  

CONDITION

The case is in MINT condition. The structural condition of the box is perfect. There are no notable flaws. The box appears to be in new condition.  The plastic cling on the internal glass pane has not even been removed.  Please see the pictures for beauty of this piece.

The musical movement was inspected and cycled. It was gently cleaned and properly lubricated to give years of enjoyment. The sound is terrific.  There are a couple very minor instances of resonance that can occur in vintage boxes (you have to listen very carefully). The sound is rich, clear, and intricate. I always include a video so there are no unpleasant surprises. I highly encourage you to listen to this video!

The box measures 9-3/4" x 6-1/2" and is 4-1/2” high. It will be expertly packed and will ship via priority mail.
