For sale is a pair of logging cross
cut saw handles. Found at an Estate sale in the Portland, Oregon area. These were probably
made by Atkins or Disston. Atkins
numbered these as a No.9. Disston
numbered these as a No. 113. They are sand cast forged
of malleable iron, A loop rod with threaded end and a wing nut for
tightening attaches to the saw. The handle is designed so
you have a double grip, one hand above the hardware and one below the hardware.
With the two opposite holes you can attach the handle horizontally or
vertically. Vintage is probably around
1914 to 1920. I have taken pictures to
show all points of interest. Please use
the pictures as part of the description.
