Historic "Compact Disc - The System" Launch Brochure

Philips developed the Compact Disc System with Sony

I believe that this was probably the initial launch introduction brochure for the commercial Compact Disc system by Philips and is quite rare

It has old and discoloured 'sellotape' repairs, mainly to the spine, and some dark print at the top of page 2 & 3 has been lifted by the sellotape (see photographs 4 & 5)

The rear page has a CD size aperture which originally had a life size 'pop-out' CD image which has been removed and is not included

It has light handling marks and minor staining here and there but looks nice overall

As well as information about the then new CD System, it shows the initial range of Philips Compact Disc Players, including the iconic CD100

Overall, a historic item full of information about the new audio technology that introduced us all to the age of digital music reproduction
