A Delightful Nostalgic Vintage Find!
Embroidery or Cording Guide

A replica of the original instruction sheet is included.
~~~
This was offered in magazines and newspapers as a mail order sewing gadget from a time when a sewing machine was a household tool. Beauty and art was created with a needle and thread to embellish every day items, clothing for special events, wearable accessories and household furnishings.
~~~
You do need a vintage sewing machine standard presser foot (photo below). These feet are common on many vintage straight stitch sewing machines such as the Singer  Featherweight 221 and the Singer slant shank 301-301a.

I was skeptical to begin with and was pleasantly surprised.
This little sewing tool delivered!

~~~~~~~
Your vintage Embroidery Cording Guide fits on the left toe of your vintage Singer Sewing Machine foot.
I threaded the guide using No. 3 pearled cotton (your instructions suggests small braids such as soutache, baby rick rack, yarn, crochet cotton, chenille, rat tail, etc).
I really was not ready for this to work as easily as it did!
Inspired by my personal copy of Singer Machine Embroidery instructions (see my other eBay listings), I had to play!
What if I stitched the cord onto narrow ribbon?
I love baby rickrack!
This is a delightful little accessory. Ready to inspire your sewing imagination!
