Tin Gameboard

AEROPLANE RACE

'ROUND THE WORLD FLIERS

This wonderful antique tin toy has its original vibrant paint on front and back and original spinner still intact. It measures 11 1/8" by 11 1/8" inches.

It is a wonderful example of early aviation with biplanes and a zeppelin featured!! This looks great on display!!

This is estate fresh - I have not cleaned it and it features it's original paint. It doesn't have any game pieces, just the gameboard as pictured.

Condition: GOOD - there is gentle wear with slight paint loss on the spinner and rim and there are small light dents on the board from game play. Original paint is WONDERFUL - still bright and unfaded and has a great graphic appeal.

Winning Bidder pays $8.85 for USPS Ground Advantage or $16.85 for USPS Priority Shipping - this will be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and sent in a box so it arrives in its original condition. We pride ourselves on packing and shipping - this will get to you safely!

Here's a description from The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures:

Tin Toy AEROPLANE RACE 'Round the World Fliers Gameboard WOLVERINE

Dimensions: 11 1/8" by 11 1/8"

On April 6, 1924, the Army Air Service (later named the Air Force) began the first “around-the-world” flight.  Four Douglas World Cruisers departed Washington State, heading westward for Asia by way of Alaska.  The trials and tribulations of the four planes, the SeattleChicagoBoston and New Orleans, captured the public’s imagination.  The Wolverine Supply and Manufacturing Company produced the Aeroplane Race ‘Round the World Fliers tin game. Armed with airplane game pieces, two to four players could spin the dial and face challenges encountered by the real pilots on their journeys.
