Saxscape Tenor Sax Mouthpiece, HUDSON .102 #1862A

Material: Delrin
Please note, I bought this as a prototype and so the finish is not as polished as the items sold on their website.

I was assured that the sound quality and characteristics are identical to the $275 mouthpieces they sell.

Inspired by the Berg Larsen 100/0 mouthpiece but with an easy playing facing and attention to detail that Saxscape is known for. It plays evenly and with full dynamics up and down the horn. Good projection.

I have two other Saxscape mouthpieces, the Fat Cat and the SL, which I play most so this one has not been used much. Always used with a patch. There is a mark from the ligature (seen in photo 5) but this does not affect the sound.

All Saxscape models are designed, precision machined, and tested by Ken Barry, whose mouthpiece concepts are informed by an eclectic gigging career of over 30 years. "I've spent many thousands of hours studying the work of the great mouthpiece makers, and the sound approaches of especially tenor greats John Coltrane and Michael Brecker.
I owe many thanks to the great musicians in New York City and around the globe who have been playing Saxscape pieces and helping guide these designs over the last 15 years."
