TIMELESS Mackintosh!!

Sterling Chas Rennie MACKINTOSH design

Off-set STYLIZED ROSE BAR PIN Brooch

Original Window inspired - Mark looks like Historic Originals

Beautiful asymmetrical bar pin has the classic square design that hallmarks Charles Rennie Mackintosh designs -- especially highlighted in the Willow Tea Room, Sauchiehall Road, in Glasgow, that he designed.  A purchase made years ago at the Glasgow School of Art, to support the Scots school Mackintosh made famous -- never given, never used.

The rectangular bar brooch looks beautiful against black or other solids, Bar pins across the collar and top button can dress up a look, --  or looks great with casual tees and jeans... We think any Albanach should love it!!!  Looks fine off-center pinned left or right, east-west -- or the symmetry that emerges pinned north/south.

Its very hard to read, but based on other CRM jewelry we have listed, we believe it is hallmarked by Historic Originals for sterling with a classic English assay style hallmark stamp on the backside of the brooch: 925 / One looks like a thistle, but very hard to tell. The thistle was replaced by the lion rampant in 1975, so we know this is 1974 or earlier.

Will come packed ready to give!  Treat yourself!  See our other listings for more Mackintosh inspired jewelry!! Scroll down for more info on the Willow Tea Room and Historic Originals.

From the WEB

Sauchiehall is a corruption of the Scots Gaelich "sauchie hauch:" “sauchie,” abounding in willows and “hauch,” a low-lying meadow by the side of a river, Hence the name Willow Tea Room, and the name of the street its on!

From the Web

Historic Originals were makers of fine sterling and yellow gold jewelry in Celtic, Mackintosh-inspired, Scottish symbol, and repro-antique Scot jewelry designs -- quality made and somewhat reasonably priced until the 1990s, when they went under new ownership -- They got away from the traditional designs and began crafting original contemporary fine jewelry with gemstones -- pricier and appealing to a higher end market, Today known as HotDiamonds.
