An antique hardback: Histoire De Gil Blas De Santillane Par Le Sage by Alain-Rene Lesage, published in 1835 by Paulin, Libraire-Editeur. It is written entirely in French. Please note the spine has been recovered with the original leather spine attached.

It has 972 pages with vignettes by the French painter and Lithographer Jean Gigoux. There is a bookplate on the inside front cover for Sir (Frank) Trevor Bigham (1876-1954) an English Barrister and Assistant Commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police from 1914-1931 and Deputy Commissioner from 1931-1935.

As mentioned above, the spine has been recovered with the original leather spine attached which has a piece missing at the top (shown in the pictures). There is binding on the inside front cover. The front cover is coming away at the first blank page with the handwritten notes (shown in the picture). Notes are also written in pencil on the last blank pages. The pages are in a good condition with some foxing/age related marks.

Apologies for the cost of postage as this book has a heavy postal weight.
