When you think of primitive tools and points what comes to mind first, obsidian or flint? If you are an obsidian person then you are in luck. Obsidian makes extremely sharp implements and is relatively easy to work. It also can trap gasses between the layers of volcanic glass producing an effect similar to the iridescence seen in some bird feathers, or present swirling patterns produced by impurities such as iron or manganese. This made obsidian a strong candidate for ceremonial points or blades. I buy my rainbow and triple flow from northern California and a place near Coos Bay, Oregon.

I make all of my points, while they are often similar to authentic points, they are not intended as true replicas much less as historical artifacts.
