Break Rules

A player’s team is determined by the team listed on the card.

If a team is not listed, then the card will be randomized. (See Randomizing Cards)

If multiple players are listed then the card will be randomized unless one team has more than 50% of the players listed. If a team has more than 50% of the players then the card will go to that team. If no team has a majority of the players then it will be randomized among the teams listed on the card. Each team will receive one entry per player listed. For example, if the card shows 2 Yankees, 2 Phillies, and 1 Red Sox player then the randomization will consist of 5 entries: 2 Yankees, 2 Phillies, and 1 Red Sox.

Cards which show players in college, high school, or minor league uniforms will go to the team listed on the card. If no team is listed on the card then the card will go to the team that most recently drafted the player. If the player was not drafted then it will go to the team that most recently signed the player. Otherwise, the card will be randomized.

Teams which no longer exist will go to the franchise. For example, the Milwaukee Braves will go to the Atlanta Braves franchise, not the Milwaukee Brewers. (This is known as the Eddie Mathews rule.) Teams not affiliated with teams listed, such as the Negro League teams, will be randomized.

Retired players will go to the team listed on the card. If no team is listed then the uniform being worn will be used. If the uniform is indistinguishable then the player will go to the team for which they played the most games. Otherwise, the card will be randomized.

Cards such a Panini Points will be randomized.

Randomizing Cards

Cards will be randomized using the random.org list randomizer. Each randomization should be run 5 times. The randomization should be shown on screen whenever possible. If not possible, then a screenshot of the randomization should be taken and posted to the break chat immediately. The screenshot should also include the timestamp and the number of executions.
