Up for auction this week is a LOT of three (3) pieces of 19th-century music, two of which feature a SCHOTTISCH and show lithographed images on covers (a puppy dog, a kitten, and a cat on one and a girl skipping rope and a boy with a hoop or early version of a hullahoop). Here's a more detailed description:

(1) "Romping Schottisch. Composed by F. Southgate. Baltimore. Henry McGaffrey." Dedicated to "Miss Anna C. Mohun, Washington D.C."  "Entered according to Act of Congress in the Year 1857 by Henry McCaffrey in the Clerks Office of the District Court of Md." 3 sheets (complete). Color lithography on cover. With girl and boy playing (jump rope and hoop). Suitable for framing.

(2) "Impudence Schottische, by Alan Macey. London: W. H. Broome." "Played by the 2nd Battn. 92nd Gordon Highlanders." 3 loose sheets (complete). Old tape on left margin, not affecting image and some tape on tears. Lithographed image of puppy, kitten, and cat will please animal lovers. Suitable for framing. 

(3) "Eighth Edition. The Keel Row, with Introduction & Variations for the Piano FOrte, Composed & Dedicated to His Pupils, by James Stimpson, Late Organist of St. Andrews, Newcastle on Tyne, and now of The Town Hall, Birmingham. Newcastle upon Tyne, Published by Horn & Story, Music Sellers." 5 loose sheets complete. Faded ink inscription to music from "Aunt Sarah" dated August 1867.
