This is a beautiful model of Amtrak's FL9 in Phase 3. These were dual mode locomotives, meaning that they operated both from a diesel engine and alternatively by drawing power from a third rail. This is the modernized version of the model, which has HEP (head end power) equipment on the roof. The model also includes separate HEP plugs for the nose, as well as separately applied working ditch lights. The sound is excellent, and the lighting features are spectacular and includes working headlights, red marker lights, and rock lights above the front trucks.  On some of these locomotives, Amtrak utilized a plow pilot, so I included one I had in case you wanted to install it on the unit.

This locomotive is new, but I took it out to test run it, so I listed it as new other.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, including prototype information about this model.
