Please check the spacing of your pickups before ordering by measuring the distance between the centres of the outer pole screws.

While most Gibson guitars have standard 1 15/16" spaced pickups for both neck and bridge, 2 1/16" 'F' spaced or 'trem spaced' pickups were used at the bridge position on many recent Gibsons as well as other brands.

To fit these to a regular humbucker slip the cover over the pickup and solder to the metal back plate of the pickup. It is best to rough up the area of the cover and the back plate that is being soldered to make the solder stick better. Be very careful not to overheat the pickup as damage can occur, if unsure it is best to consult a guitar repairer.

Replacing existing covers has more potential for damage as removing the solder requires a lot of heat. Be very careful not to overheat the pickup doing this, apply the heat directly to the solder and be ready to remove the solder with a solder sucker as soon as it is melted.
