One Piece (not folding) Wood Game Board

Guessing the Dating from the early 1800's and even earlier

The goal of the game was to reach the 63rd space before others using a pair of dice and game pieces

Hence the 63 in the name.

I do not have the dice or the game pieces just the board as it is pictured.

This is remarkably intact for its age.

I would say very restorable & definitely a collectors piece.

The Game Board is one piece and roughly 23" x 23" square

It is relatively heavier than it looks and made of layered wood I assume for strength.

From what I can find this game originated likely in Italy in the 15th Century

This game grew in acceptance and as it moved to different countries many Countries adapted and designed their own version of this

Usually to adapt to their culture I assume.

In fact there is a modern version of this game that looks a whole bunch different than this by a company like Milton Bradley

This Modern Version does not hold a candle to this very much Antique Game Board Piece or even anywhere Close

The Graphics on this though aged are still Amazing. The rules written in the left hand corner or so I assume that is what written there?? Yes it has aging and wear etc but it is after all it is very old. Some of the layers of wood may be loose but very gzueable. Could be 200 years old or older??

I would be so lucky to look this good if I was that old :0)

I spent quite a while searching the web and I only found where one other one of these sold in another country at auction

and at a price I will not disclose here but many, many, many times the starting price I have here. By the way did I mention the words

Many, Many, Many times more??? and from the pictures it was not in as good of condition as this one is.

Just a Comment on Vintage items

Why? Because I like old Vintage items. :0)

VINTAGE, RETRO, ANTIQUE & OLD ITEMS THEY ARE SO COOL

Please remember that Vintage and Antique items will show some wear, blemishes, and imperfections that they have acquired though the years. Old magazines, books, publications, booklets and manuals may come with wear, age spots & page discoloration. Some may have a slight age or other odor from aging. It's a natural process. I collect or have collected many Vintage items over the years and I personally feel this adds to their character, charm and shows that the background and history of the pieces as being authentically old and thus making them more in demand, collectable and desirable to those that enjoy and/or collect them. Remember that even a vintage item in really good condition is old and it may not function as well as when it was originally made. Plastic type and other items can change color and/or weaken over time because of light, pollutants, heat, humidity and other items in the air. So if you intend on using a Vintage item, please be aware of this, and be careful. We can not control how you use them. They may be more subject to breaking just because of the fact they are old. Yet other items were made better back then, then similar items made today, so you alone have to make your decision to buy and item or not. With that said when we are selling Vintage & Antique items we are selling them for collectors value, and likewise if you break an item after it is sold, this is not our fault, as vintage and antique items are usually old when we sell them. We strive to describe the item being sold as honestly as possible. We are not perfect and if we miss something we apologize in advance and just know it was not intentional.
