Offered here is a mid 19th century American coin silver cup with some flower decorations and a gift presentation. The cup is 3 7/16” from base to cup rim, 4” from base to top of handle curve. The rim diameter is 2 3/4” and the foot diameter is 2 1/2”, so the cup is slightly widened from bottom to rim top. It weighs 4 ounces and is marked “coin” on thr cup bottom. There is no maker’s mark. The cup’s inscription is opposite the handle and reads “A. H. Jr./from his uncle/C.N.H./Decr. 25th..1858.”The decorations are both well executed and well done. Looking down from the cup top it seems to be in the round. The foot has a few dents, though the cup bottom is still round. These dents are only noticeable when looking at the foot rim from the bottom. They are not at all noticeable looking at the cup from any of it’s sides. Otherwise there are no dents or other marks on the cup. The cup stands firmly with no wobble and is in excellent antique condition, though it probably should be polished.
