Richard Duborgh Plus Norway Mid Century 1960’s Studio Art Glass Vase Design

A great example of mid-century Nordic design from one of the most important artists’ collectives of that period. Established in 1958, the Plus handcraft center produced handmade original designs in glass, silver, ceramics and furniture for the next twenty years.
Richard Duborgh came to Plus in 1959 and became a leading artist and designer in ceramics and glass. The piece offered here is a good example of the belief that art could be useful without appearing utilitarian. It may have been intended as a drinking glass, or would serve just as well as a decorative vase. Made of smoky glass. Acid etched “Plus Norway” on the bottom with the Plus logo. Free from damage. 6 inches tall. Weighs about 410 gr
