You are bidding on one military chest set, NATO number
5965-66-017-8119. There are two; if you make the winning bid, tell me how many
you want so I can generate the correct invoice for you.
The chest set is a
black Bakelite housing that has:
- ·
a
quick-removal, adjustable-length webbing neck strap
- ·
a permanently
tethered 500 mm cloth-covered flexible cord connecting to a handset
- ·
a U-92
socket to accept a headset via a U-93A/U or U-174/U plug
- ·
approximately
1.5 m of cotton-covered flexible cord terminated in a U-77/U connector.
The handset is black
Bakelite. It holds a carbon microphone element and has a push-to-talk button
for transmitting. The handset also has a 2-way bayonet socket, possibly for a
reading lamp. The microphone has a rubber mouthpart designed to fit closely to
your face, so as to exclude outside sounds.
How you can use this item
As this chest set uses
the 10-way U-77 connector, you can use it with:
- ·
the GRA-6
control sets
- ·
the SB-22 switchboard
- ·
most of
the PRC series of transceivers, such as PRC-8, PRC-9, PRC-10, PRC-47
- the GRC-106
- ·
the
TRC-75.
Why am I selling this?
I originally acquired
these chest sets to use with my PRC-47 transceivers. Now that I no longer have
PRC-47 transceivers, I don’t need these chest sets.
Packaging
I make no charge for
packaging. Your item will be properly wrapped and packed to withstand the usual
rigors of postal and courier delivery systems.
Shipping - please read
You must ask me to
quote the shipping charge. Why?
- There are often differences between what
eBay calculates, what the Australia Post and other carriers' online calculators
show, and what they actually charge. Generally, Australia Post uses the
quickest delivery method, such as one of the more expensive Air Mail modes.
- eBay calculates
postage based on the rates charged by Australia Post, in turn based on the
weight I have given, but not always the dimensions. Sendle uses the same weight and dimensional information to come up
with its shipping estimate. If you win several items, I will bundle them (up to 20 kg) to get
you the most economical shipping charge.
- Though Australia Post offers insurance (up to AU$100) and tracking as part of the carriage charge, some carriers do not. So, you must ask me to quote you for
such additional delivery services as insurance, tracking, or signature on receipt. If your final winning bid plus shipping exceeds AU$100, I will add insurance (probably about AU$8). If you are
overseas, I will add tracking.
- I have added a small
handling charge to cover the costs of my taking your packed item to my nearest Australia
Post or Sendle office. If you want me to take the item to a different carrier
of your choice, we will negotiate the cost involved. My handling charge is for
one package, no matter how many items it contains. You can avoid my handling
charge and the shipping cost by collecting the item directly from me.
Payment
If you are in
Australia, I will accept direct bank transfer, eBay, Money
Order, or PayPal, but not posted cash. It is often cheaper to pay by bank transfer than by eBay, Money Order or PayPal; however, I will accept cash
if you collect the item from me.
If you are outside Australia,
I will only accept bank transfer, Money Order or PayPal. All payments must be
in AU$, unless we agree otherwise before your payment.
