This is a nice vintage tin space toy.

It's in pretty good shape and displays very well, but it doesn't seem to be functioning perfectly.

When I pull it back and let go, it moves forward slowly and not very far.  I don't see any sparks either.

It measures 4.5" tall x 8.75" x 3".
