Nikon 4000 ED Slide scanner..TURNS ON but won't scan-'For parts' Located in Qld. Australia

Bought this new a few decades ago and occasionally used it to scan my slides to a laptop.

Fired it up a few years ago and my new laptop wouldn’t recognise it (I use VueScan which is fantastic).

So, I shipped it to a great repairman in Maryland, USA, Frank Philips, who I found on Ebay.

He repaired it, sent it back to me in Australia and it worked perfectly for about 500 scans and then stopped working. It turns on but ????.

I bought several adaptors that make it go into a USB-C input (used it on my Macbook Pro M1 laptop)

I only shoot digital images now so am offering it for sale.
