ESP Signature Series Kirk Hammett Model KH-3 SPIDER 30th Anniversary Edition [Kirk Hammett Signature Model]

Kirk Hammett KH-3 SPIDER 30th Anniversary Edition

The KH-3 was born in 1991 when Metallica's Kirk Hammett approached ESP with a request: ``I wanted a new guitar with a single cutaway design that would take advantage of the features of the KH-2.'' Pushead, Metallica's graphic artist, designed the spider graphic for the KH-3. The KH-3 was played by Kirk on tour supporting the legendary 90's Black Album.

The original KH-3, which had been on display for many years at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, was returned to ESP and became the basis for this 30th anniversary model. The Kirk Hammett Signature Series 30th Anniversary KH-3 Spider from ESP and LTD is a reissue model with several upgrades to the original KH-3 model.

It has a neck-through construction similar to the original, with spider and skull inlays. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. The 17th to 24th frets have a scalloped finish that is seen on recent Kirk models. Additionally, both models feature Kirk's signature EMG Bonebreaker pickups.
